This makes sense: "There's a real eliminationist strain of thinking in conservative thinking about homosexuality. They want gays in the closet, but they deplore the practices of the closet and the consequences it lead to. What they really want is for gay people to just go away. But they know they can't do that, either. So they whine and they fume. […] …for a long time this was an 80-20 issue for Republican politicians so they had an interest in not thinking too closely about whether or not they were really making sense. But that's increasingly not the case. A reasonable politics of "family values" needs to contain some penalties for heterosexuals with anti-family behavior (see, e.g., Dick Vitter, Rudy Giuliani) and support for gays with pro-family behavior. What they have right now is just loathing of gay people masquerading as defense of the traditional family."
If an officer of the law ever tells you that you have the right to remain silent, shut the hell up and get a lawyer. Cops are not your allies or your advocates or your friends. (This can be very, very hard advice to follow. The temptation to speak in your own defense can be overwhelming. Focus on ignoring it.)
Linday Lohan: "She is said to have been caught having sex in a toilet cubicle with a male patient, and is reportedly frequently late to meetings and refuses to do any chores or menial tasks such as washing up."
The ironic thing about Craig's situation is that the crime that he is guilty of is no big deal but the hypocricy of his attitude towards gay rights and his lying about everything are real problems. He shouldn't face a threat to his place in the Senate because he likes men, he should lose his seat because he doesn't know to get a lawyer when he runs afoul of the law, he doesn't know to favor the rights of consenting adults to use their bodies as they see fit, he doesn't really understand America nor our laws nor our Constitution. And, he's a pussy because he won't admit he likes "outies" instead of "innies." Jeez.
I was sitting here drafting a comment and I noticed Kelly scrolling up and down past all the other comments, peeking in at each one and fidgeting with his fingers. I know this particular site has had complaints about lewd behavior before, so I took his repeated entering of comments about homosexuality, criminality, movie stars and painful sitting to suggest that a lewd and lascivious act was imminent. Rather than risk exposure to such an act, I "published my comment" and exited the site.

She's my hero.
