Jesus: Only Bread Flavor Allowed

Just so we're all clear, this is what happens when advocates for religiosity in public life are successful in their efforts: art is not displayed. File under: American Taliban and the Rise of Theocratic Fascism.

Heinlein in a number of books predicted the rise of the American Theocracy. What a fuck head.

Are you sure?

Fuck yes I'm sure.

Don't hang your heads too low, fellow anti-theocrats. Chalk up a victory for Dunkin Donuts!

You know the Orthodox Jews in the D.C. area couldn't POSSIBLY buy and run their own Dunkin' Donuts franchise to ensure that there is a kosher, yet mainstream food option for the community.

My uncle was almost ruined trying to ensure that his kosher butcher shop could remain open for business on Sunday back in Massachusetts when they still had "blue" laws barring businesses from being open on "the Sabbath." My uncle walked the walk and took his case all the way to the Supreme Court (and lost, believe it or not).

Keeping Kosher certification, as you could see by the article, is a HUGE pain in the ass and, as a friend of mine who worked as a chef once explained, not all as clean as it's made out to be.

Bottom line, anyone who's THAT religious and then puts it upon everyone else to accomodate their very particular ritual needs but hardly lifts a finger him or herself is an annoying twit.

Oh my gosh! So... a group of people responded to something they thought was disrespectful with statements and a letter writing campaign. Wow... And for this, for exercising their freedom of speech, they're labeled Taliban? Fascists? So, in your opinion, what would be an acceptable way for these folks to express their point of view...or are they simply not entitled to one?
