Man, the Oscars sucked this year.

How sad is this? The most entertaining moment of the evening, for me, was Wes Anderson's American Express commercial.

Which I had seen before.

During last year's Oscar telecast.

And I was glad Alan Arkin won because I know a guy who knows him and apparently he's a really cool guy.

Next year I'm inviting myself to Kelly's house.

How about that Martin Scorsese?

Sigh. The Oscars always suck. Every year. Yet you come glutonously to the trough hoping for a better year? The Oscars have never been good. Ever.

...except when Melissa Etheridge took home the Oscar for Best Song. Man, I would have loved to see the look on Beyonce's face after that.

...except that the Melissa Etheridge song SUCKS.

Arlo's got a point. That song sucked some lima beans. But hey, at least Beyonce didn't win cuz she sucks all the time. At least Melissa only sucks some of the time. I wonder if she'll lose her dyke card for sucking...

Did you hear about the Lesbian Koalas?

While this is true, it was kind of priceless to see Melissa win after that horrendous and long Dreamgirls performance. Thank god for the mute button, though.

Also: I, too, felt the Oscars were lacking this year (although Jon Stewart and 3-6 Mafia are a tough combination to beat), but those shadow dancers were pretty damn cool.

We'll see if Jennifer Hudson's career goes in the tank like many previous Best Supporting Actresses.

The previous ten actors to win Best Supporting Actress:

Rachel Weisz
Cate Blanchett
Renee Zellweger
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Jennifer Connelly
Marcia Gay Harden
Angelina Jolie
Judi Dench
Kim Basinger
Juliette Binoche

Yeah, those careers went nowhere.

Oops. It appears I had a 1995/1997 brain fart or I let the waste over Kim Basinger and Mira Sorvino affect my judgment. Their careers didn't really go anywhere afterwards, but as for the other nine you mention, my head was clearly in my ass.
