He Understands Your Pain
Bush knows stuff:
US President George Bush has admitted there is "frustration" at the speed of the relief effort following Hurricane Katrina's hit on the Gulf Coast.
"I fully understand people wanting things to have happened yesterday. I mean I understand the anxiety of people on the ground..."
It's time for me to admit that I was wrong. For years I've thought that the President was dumb. He's not. Actually, he's, like, really super-dooper smart. He understands that when the American people turn to him in a time of crisis, we want to know whether he is aware that there is a crisis. Take Hurricane Katrina for example. America needed to be reassured that the President understood that there was, in fact, a hurricane. The President knows this. He knows this because he's a smartie. "There was a hurricane. I understand that. I'm aware of your concerns. I look forward to discussing with the American people my confidence in the ability of our country to recover. I have that confidence." Thank you, sir. Thank you for assuring us that you understand. That you're awake. It's good to know that you're getting the information. Now the country can get back to reeling in pain and crying out for help. That's real leadership.

Boy you Lefties have not missed a beat. National tragedy strikes and you use it to continue your assult on the president. I pity you.
Go ahead and pity us, then. In the meantime, we will continue to pity the victims of the tragedy, a tragedy that would be better dealt with if the president weren't squandering budget money on a worthless war, putting unqualified cronies in charge of FEMA, and cutting the budgets of the Army Corps of Engineers for repairs and upgrades to the levees that broke. But of course, I'm just bashing the president because I'm a lefty, not because the president actually let down citizens of the United States. Yeah, I am an asshole.
How not to assault a piece of shit who tells Diane Sawyer this morning that no one expected the levees to fail? Where in the hell has Chimpy been?
You righties will follow that ass to hell, and you're welcome to, but it's time for the rest of us to get on the clue bus.
Thank you, Kelly, for sharing your frustration with me. I understand your frustration. I really do. You need to understand, however, that it is important for me to get on with my life. And a national tragedy is no time to be criticizing my leadership, I don't think you understand the scope of this tragedy. It's big. So big that a you shouldn't use it, use people's death, for a sleazy, sleazy political attack. I was meant to hold this office. I am making history. I am humbled by the honor I have to serve the country.
There is no way that was the President. Way too few spelling mistakes.
We all know that was Karl Rove who left that comment.
Okay. So what if I asked Karl to weihg in on this trajidy.
This is hard work. It's easy to go and support herricain victims when there is an elekshun on the line. Espeshally when it is in Jeb's state. But now that I have this shit all stiched up, there are a lot of things that I have to do hard work on.
Why does this crap always happen when I am vacashun? Doesnt anywon fell sorry for me? I try to get away from it all, and something that is not my fawlt goes and scroos up half the state of Arcansaw.
You left turns make me crancky. I have to go and pet Saddom's pistol to make myself feel better now.
I keep reading that in 2001 FEMA predicted a hurricane destroying New Orleans as one of three likely disaster scenarios facing the US. A terrorist attack on New York was another possibility.
Does anyone have any idea what the third option was?
A major earthquake in San Francisco.
