LYRC 4.0 Release Candidate 2 (ALPHA)

Because of the weirdness that Blogger added to the posts that made the old template look funky, I had to quickly whip out something new. Using the Default Blogger template that I had previously (which was designed by Jeffrey Zeldman, so I knew the CSS would be perfect), I've whipped together this. It's not even close to done—I need to treat the headings differently, there's still a few bugs (like not seeing links in the headings), and I haven't really done anything to the look of comments yet. However, so far I'm happy. It seems to have something for everyone, like a return to the CB radio that a previous incarnation used. Plus, it still has some pink, though now it simply reads as a tint of the red. Feel free to comment, but bear in mind that this design is still a work in progress.

Yee Haw. I'm so happy to see the CB radio again. I just now crafted an exquisite little fart-of-joy as a response. I also like the little boxes for quotes. Your efforts, as always, make everyone's life a little better. Never settle.

Damn. Not knowing squat about html or photoshop, I went to a heap of trouble to get those little pink stripes in the photos for my Deadwood post to complement the old pink scheme. Such a waste!

I like where the design of the site is headed. It may be the greatest web page design ever. Probably not but, maybe.

The design is unique, and the color palate is almost 1950s (I believe 1950's pink has more yellow...they often referred to it as "salmon."). All the red reminds me of the theatre pages you designed in the past.

I'm taking a few cues from my collection of early 1960s television repair magazines I purchased for a dollar at a garage sale several years ago. The CB radio comes from one. The pink I'm going for is more as a tint of a solid ink red. Salmon was very popular in the 1950s, which does indeed have a yellow component. It's also a hideous color and nothing like how good, fresh salmon should look.

And by the way, Dr. Smith, it's gone on too long. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU? You seem to know so much about Kelly, Richard, and me, and I simply can't figure out who from our collective history you are. If you are willing to out yourself, feel free to email me (arlo[at]arlodesign.com). However, if you enjoy your anonymity, hey, rock out with your cock out, I dig.

Yes, all three of you know me, have shook my hand, and interacted with me in the past. Since I periodically leave clues (like Richard's nick-name being Brad, his middle name, in high school) peppered throughout my my posts, sooner or later one of you will figure-out who I am. However, I think it is more fun for you to deduce which one of your warped friends/acquaintances I am, than for me to out-right tell you.

To make things easier, you can use the following multiple choice question to determine my identify (only 1 answer is correct).

I'm someone who:
A. Kelly knew at Krannert.
B. Arlo worked with on a Defiant production.
C. A real vampire Richard really pissed-off.

I like the cd radio theme. The red blocks around the titles seems to me overkill. The new design is not subtle and makes things seem crowded. But what do I know. I didn't even know Richards middle name was Brad.

Thank you, Fock. Though, as they say at Slashdot, RTFA. "I need to treat the headings differently." And subtlety is overrated.

And subtlety is overrated.

Except in cooking and in bed and coking in bed.
