Drawn! linked to Ralph McQuarrie's website, the production artist for the original Star Wars trilogy. I especially liked this painting that shows a Stormtrooper with a light saber and others with shields. The environment is very THX-1138. And check out this original concept for Yoda.

You are not a nerd. You are a designer. And you understand the value of good Art Direction as an element in telling the story. I have long been a fan of R.M. and his work. Any time I am in the Sci-Fi section of a bookstar, the Art of Star Wars volumes find their way into my hands.

Geoge Lucas is not the best storyteller in the world, but he is very good at collaborating with the right people to bring life to his imagination. That makes R.M. an invaluable part of the pre-
production process of the Original Trilogy.
Any time someone gives me a negative review for a Science Fiction title, I ask: "Were the ships cool?"

Episode 3 will suck. I ain't going.
If I say this enought times, I will be in the right frame of mind when I get there to see it.
I can pretend that I am doing someone a favor by going with them. And then, POW!, it didn't suck so bad.
Dissenters are already chipping away at my happy place, though...
