Anybody got a knife I can borrow?

Arlo wrote his 2004 Year in Review, so it's only fair that I get to write mine.

2004 was all about endings. Conclusions. Goodbyes.

Defiant Theatre closed forever.
My relationship with my girlfriend ended.
Several friends quit Chicago and moved to L.A.
Toby Keith put his boot in the ass of the DNC.
Over 120,000 people met their end in Indonesia and evirons.

…fuck it. This Year in Review stuff is way too depressing.

I'm going to the titty bar.

Lubow here...Let's get one thing straight right now - I look upon anyone who would post "anonymously" with utter contempt, but the fact remains that trying to come up with a blog username that this site will accept is a HUGE PAIN IN THE KEISTER. Just wanted to get that out.

Re: year in reviews, yes, they are depressing as hell, however not NEARLY as depressing as some people's persistence in composing new year's "resolutions" in an attempt to "better" themselves.

I guess those annoying optomists out there (i.e. experts at avoiding reality) like to think upon the passing into the next year as some sort of beginning, a way to wipe the slate clean and start fresh...it's crap, I tell you. The blood is already on all of our hands (you know what you did) so we might as well own up to it and stop trying to be something we're not. I predict 2005 will bring more of the same...but faster, louder, and dumber.

If 2004 was really all about endings, then WTF are we still doing here?
